John Round Trip: 142.48 Miles
Weekly Cost: $149.60
Origin: West Palm Beach
Destination: Miami Single Occupant Driver
I drive everyday from West Palm Beach to Miami. It takes almost two hours. I would like to try and carpool with someone or take the train but with my schedule I am not sure when I leave in the evening. I just feel better using my car. But with gas prices that keep going up and up, I may not have a choice soon. I spend $50 every time I fill up and that is most times twice per week.

Rita Round Trip: 87.32 Miles
Weekly Cost: $45.84
Origin: Boynton Beach
Destination: Miami CARPOOL Commuter
I commute about 26 miles, each way, to work. I have found that driving to work on US 1 is often more relaxing than driving on I-95. Although you might think it would be much faster to drive on I-95, the difference in the mornings is just about 10 minutes. Unless I am running late I prefer to take the extra time and take US 1 whenever I can.

Trisia Round Trip: 122.44 Miles
Weekly Cost: $128.55
Origin: Lake Worth
Destination: Miami Single Occupant Driver
Driving from Palm Beach County into Miami everyday is no picnic. The costs don't bother me that much unless gas keeps going up but it is all the rude drivers that feel they are the only ones on the road. Stop, start and so on and so on, I feel like I have worked a full day even before I get to work. Programs have tried to get me to start using the train or carpool, but I just haven't had the chance to get around to it yet. Couple more of the days with the crazies on the road and I will be burnt out.

Monica Round Trip: 30.8 Miles
Weekly Cost: $32.35
Origin: Miami
Destination: Miami Single Occupant Driver
5/14/07: Left home at 8 a.m. (Devonaire area) Traffic not too bad. Usual slow down on SR 878. Definitely do not take 878 all the way to US 1 as ALWAYS a back up. Get off at 72nd Avenue exit and go thru Dadeland Station -- much quicker. Actually was able to get to South Miami Metrorail station by 8:35. Used to leave from home at 8:15--definitely a no-no. Traffic is bumper-to-bumper on SW 104 Street and ALL the way to Dixie Hwy.

Gilbert Round Trip: 35.92 Miles
Weekly Cost: $16.30
Origin: Miami
Destination: Miami TRANSIT Commuter
I use to drive to work everyday and ry to battle the traffic and the accidents along the road. I live about 17 miles from my work but it sue to take me almost an hour to drive. Sometimes I would get to work and I would be so stressed out that it would take me over an hour to settle down. Finally I had enough and starting using MDT. It has saved me money and I am more relaxed. Has it been perfect, no, but it sure beats driving. I save my car for the weekends.
